While this paper does not need to include a works cited page and your paper doesn’t have to be complete, you still need to provide a paper in mla format, with proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.

One of the biggest parts of the writing process is revision. This essential step is often overlooked or under utilized, even though almost all of the research agrees that revision is needed to produce good writing.
Thereby, in this course, you are required to write a rough draft and submit it for review. This rough draft must be at least 1000 words, with an introduction and conclusion. This paper must contain a title and thesis statement (in your introduction), as well as include at least 3 body paragraphs that include specific examples.
While this paper does not need to include a works cited page and your paper doesn’t have to be complete, you still need to provide a paper in MLA format, with proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Side note, you are allowed to use information and sentences from your outline and/or annotated bibliography in your rough draft and final draft.
This assignment is worth 25 points and will be graded using the writing rubric.

Introduction: Communication Change Challenge (CCC) Part 1
The Course Project is about improving your interpersonal communication skills. For this project, you will select a relevant interpersonal communication behavior to work on and improve (Week 1), attempt to change your behavior or pattern in the communication area you selected (Week 2), and evaluate your progress and performance (Week 3).
Part 1
Take some time to think about challenges you have communicating with other people. These difficulties may involve strangers or acquaintances; consider communication aspects with friends, family members, or people at school or work. You may identify situations that involve specific individuals or general circumstances. Some examples include having trouble starting a conversation with someone you have never met, saying “no” when your sister asks to borrow money, or avoiding participation in meetings even when you have a question or contribution to the discussion.
Complete the steps in the following framework to identify a goal. Using the template for this week, detail each of the steps to explain how you chose this one communication problem area you intend to change.
Part 2
In order to gain further understanding regarding the communication challenge you have selected, you will need to do some research to find an outside scholarly source (in addition to the textbook) that addresses the challenge you face. Once you have located that source and read it, summarize the source and share how the information within the source has provided insight into your challenge and strategies that can help that challenge.
Continue following the template as you complete Part 2.
Begin with the title of the source.
The first paragraph beneath the title will summarize the source.
The second paragraph will explain how the information in your chosen source has provided guidance or insight.
End with a full APA citation on the references page
You will be submitting Part 1 and Part 2 as one document that begins with a title page and ends with a References page.
Writing Requirements (APA format)
Length: minimum of 4 pages (not including title page or references page)
1-inch margins
Double spaced
12-point Times New Roman font
Title page
References page

You may use more than 10, but no less.

The research question is as follows: How are public relations, public relations professionals, and their jobs portrayed in television and film, and what effect, if any, does their representation have on the industry as a whole? (Including but not limited to what people know about PR, how people perceive the job, people who chose to pursue it, etc)
Attached is a guide to the structure of the paper, an example research paper, as well as a list of sources. You do not need to use all of the sources attached, but they are a great jumping off point and are examples of the type of sources that are necessary to properly write this paper. 7 of the 10 sources used must be academic. You may use more than 10, but no less.
I’d like it structured similarly to this: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/338331718_PUBLIC_RELATIONS_IN_FILMS_AN_ANALYSIS_OF_HOW_THE_THEORY_AND_PRACTICE_OF_PUBLIC_RELATIONS_WAS_REFLECTED_IN_A_SELECTION_OF_HOLLYWOOD_FILMS

Give an example of a time you experienced miscommunication you believe was the result of a lack of nonverbal communication and describe which types of nonverbal communication could have been used to clarify your message (refer to the 9 types linked above) if you’d been able to deliver your message in person?

What are some key takeaways from the Wired Video featuring former FBI agent Joe Navarro about how nonverbal communication works and how you can become more sensitive to reading nonverbal communication?
The reading states that nonverbal communication is cultural. Please explain the different between “low-context communication cultures” and “high-context communication cultures” by giving an example of a key difference in nonverbal communication between a low-context culture and a high-context culture.
How we use nonverbal communication within a culture is ALSO determined by our gender, race, class, etc. For example, the way men sit is often different from the way women sit.

Please give examples of how the 9 Types of Nonverbal Communication

listed in the article are shaped by gender. You can give examples from different cultures (not just US), but be sure to tell us which cultural context you are referring to for each of your examples.
Nonverbal communication is also often unconscious. Please give an example of when our nonverbal communication might be unconscious, why, and how it impacts the message we send.
What does “7–38–55” refer to? What’s the problem with this formula? Give an example of when this formula might not be applicable.
When we shift to digital communication, like emails, texting, and social media, we often lose a great deal of nonverbal communication, which can lead to all sorts of miscommunication. In your experience, how does this loss of nonverbal communication affect how our messages are received by others? Give an example of a time you experienced miscommunication you believe was the result of a lack of nonverbal communication and describe WHICH types of nonverbal communication could have been used to clarify your message (refer to the 9 types linked above) if you’d been able to deliver your message in person?
What are some ways we can make up for the lack of nonverbal communication in digital spaces? Give an example of how you might try to express your tone or body language in a digital space.
“How to Read Nonverbal Communication Cues: 5 Techniques
Links to an external site.
” offers suggestions for things we can do to improve our awareness of nonverbal messages. This week, please try to implement some of these techniques when communicating with others. Tell us about the communication context you tried to use these techniques in–who were you communicating with and why? How were you communicating (in person or online)? Which technique(s) did you use? How did using this technique impact how you normally communicate? Will you use this technique or any others in the future? Why, when, and how?
My task for you is to read these and answer the question.

Explain how your conflict style (based on the conflict management assessment posted last week) affected your interpersonal conflict.

One does not have to search hard to find conflict. It’s everywhere—in our personal relationships, our communities, our state, our nation, and our world. Conflict is an inevitable part of life. For this assignment, I am asking you to reflect on one interaction you have had recently with someone you interact with regularly (classmate, co-worker, family member, friend, etc.,) which resulted in conflict. It would be best if you considered using the conflict chosen for last week’s discussion forum.
Which (of the five types of conflict (described in our course textbook) did you experience? Can you identify a specific pattern used in the conflict? Did any of the factors that can influence interpersonal conflict (sex and gender, culture, context, etc.) come to play in your scenario? Explain how your conflict style (based on the conflict management assessment posted last week) affected your interpersonal conflict. A summary (4-5 sentences) of the conflict should be included in the introduction of your paper.
