Give your opinion about the book supported by the readings we have done during the semester.

Write 420 words (minimum) summarizing the main contents of the book “Zen and the Art of Archery” and add a final reflection explaining how Zen is represented and what is the message conveyed by the book.
How to Write a Book Review:
Before writing your review
•Read the book carefully, taking notes on material that you think may be relevant or quotable and on your impressions of the author’s ideas and arguments.
•Determine the author’s principal argument, the chief themes of the text, the kinds of evidence used, and the way in which the author uses them.
How to Write a Book Review:
Follow this Structure when writing yours
Paragraph 1:
Provide an overview of the book (title and author); genre; potential audience; brief overview of the purpose (why the author wrote the book)
Paragraph 2:
– Brief summary of the key points of each chapter/section or group of chapters
– Paraphrase the information, avoid direct quotations.
Paragraph 3:
Evaluation and conclusion
Give your opinion about the book supported by the readings we have done during the semester. Refer to three readings assigned during the first half of the course, paraphrase the contents of these readings. NO direct quotations.
Refer to the following questions (you don’t have to answer all questions, select the ones that interest you the most) to write Paragraph 3: ?What sorts of evidence does the author employ? ?How relevant is it today? ?What are the book’s greatest strengths and weaknesses? ?Is the author fair to his subjects, or is the author overly biased? ?Is the book accurate or misleading? ?Who would you recommend the book to? Does the author omit possible alternative interpretations? ?Is the book well written, or is it in some way repetitive, obscure, or confusing?
•This assignment is worth 5 points. The evaluation is as follows:
•Paragraph 1: 0.5 pt
•Paragraph 2: 1.5 pt
•Paragraph 3: 3 pt
As an FYI when completing this project, I’d like to stress that I myself am skeptical of the author. He almost sounds like he wrote the book and tried to make it be what he understood to be Zen, however I am not sure that he actually indeed did truly understand Zen as he states.
I will attach PDFs of the readings that I think should be referred to to make it easier than including them all. The first 2 I would want used for sure, and I will include 2 more as a choice for the 3rd reference.
As stated in above, the last paragraph is the most important. Please follow the how to instructions.
