Throughout the semester, most of my lectures and readings focused on the connection between African American Literature and sensory details. Many writers utilized sensory details to make their work more vivid and visceral. In particular, African American writers use sensory details to make their experiences with slavery, racism, sexism,

midterm if you list the sensory details without providing analysis and context about these details. You will also
earn a low grade if you excessively quote from outside sources and fail to demonstrate your own original analysis
